Open the hood and stand on the driver's side of the car, you should see the transmission. In the top right corner there are two 14MM bolts, your starter is back there, after bolts are removed, reach back there and disconnect the wires from the starter then pull it out. Shouldn't be too hard. Not sure on the automatics though.

they both should have a 2.2 engin and the gt has a turbo but they are the same and will fit but you might come into some problums with the dash seeing as you have no boost gage for your turbo.

the starter should be under the intake on the back of the motor.

its in the back, between the firewall and the engine. you have to get underneath the car to remove or install it. there are three bolts. 2 from one direction one from the other. the main positive wire from the battery runs to it.
