On a 2.5L 1994 YJ, we found the temp sending unit in a tapping at the rear of the cylinder head, in the lower corner toward the exhaust side. The replacement head was not tapped at that location, and we didn't discover that fact until after the head was installed. Does anyone know of an alternate location?

On a 1987 Ford 460 engine, the temperature sending unit is typically located on the engine block, near the intake manifold or the cylinder head. It is usually positioned on the driver's side, often near the thermostat housing. To locate it, look for a small brass or metal sensor with a wire connector attached. Make sure to consult the vehicle's repair manual for precise details specific to your model.
