The thermostat is located in the thermostat housing, very near the throttle body, on the driver side of the engine. These things are a REAL PAIN to get to and to change. You have to remove the exhaust crossover housing to get any real access.
I have included a link to pictures of the engine compartment. If you click on the picture at the far right of the second row, you can see where the thermostat housing is.

Well, Greg is right in the fact that it's a pain to get to, but it's not that bad if you are handy with tools. That crossover unit does not have to be removed at all. You can access it by removing the air intake unit, from the MAF up to and including the throttle body., then loosen the coolant crossover pipe in front of the engine. Also remove the 2 small hoses connected to it by the Tstat. The bracket and throttle cable have to be removed as well. 13mm socket for the front bolt, and 13mm wrench for the back bolt. Get to the back bolt from under the exhaust crossover. Thats the pain of it all, is the back housing bolt. But if you have small hands, it might be more tolerable than it was for me.
