Under the vehicle on the bottom of the transmission.
If you remove the pan, you will see the filter up in the transmission.
Inside the transmission. Pan on bottom of transmission must be removed to access the filter.
For the V6, it's in front of the transmission pan. The drain plug is right there.
Remove the transmission oil pan. You'll need a new filter and gasket. After you remove the pan, clean the pan, replace the filter and put the pan back in place using the new gasket. Then fill the transmission
It is on the bottom of the transmission, inside the pan.

i have a 1997 Buick Skylark V6 3.1 ltr. look underneath the car and you will see a kidney shaped metal pan. it should be noticeable because it will have around 20 bolts(varies). the transmission filter is inside the pan.
drain the fluid out of the transmission pan, unbolt the pan, remove the filter and replace
Bottom of pan if there is one. Not all cars have. For those that don't, you have to drop pan.
Inside the transmission, remove pan to access.
it all depends on how large the pan is.
