To replace the turn signal and hazard flasher switch on a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero, begin by disconnecting the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Remove the steering column cover by unscrewing the screws and gently prying it apart. Locate the flasher relay, which is usually situated near the steering column, and carefully unplug it. Replace it with the new flasher switch, reassemble the steering column cover, and reconnect the battery.
The relay panel on the 2000 Oldsmobile Alero is under the steering column and above the brake pedal. The relay pops out with a screwdriver.
The hazzard light switch on the dash to the right of the speedometer is also the turn signal flasher. This is a common part to fail if intermittant turn signal operation. - TechJK -----------------------------
