it is located behind the glove box. open the glove box completely, you will need to push in the stops on the side of the glove box to do this, and it is located on the left side of the opening slightly above the opening. it is taped to another wire bundle.
The brake controller wiring harness connector for the 2005 GMC Envoy is located under the dash on the driver's side of the vehicle. Look for a connector plug not connected to anything, next to the hood release latch.
The connector for the brake controller is under the dashboard on your right close to the driver's foot rest. If you buy the genuine Toyota wiring harness with the connector then it will not take you more than a minute or so to install it as it fits right into the wiring harness that leads away from the brake controller. Make sure that everything is fixed in place and not lose.

The wiring harness & plug for the brake control on a 2002 Ford Explorer (with the trailer tow pachage) is located on the passenger side of the dash just above the glove box. Open and fully extend the glove box door. The gray 6-way plug should be up and to the left. The brake control Ford adapter will plug-in directly and then can be wired to the brake control.
If the 2004 GMC Envoy came with a tow package, then there should be a trailer brake controller harness. It would be located up under the dash near the brake pedal.
It isn't there, Dodge didn't wire the Dakota with one. You will have to wire the brake controller your self.
If your looking for the actual wiring harness that goes to your brake controller, Mine was located in the jack compartment in the back of the suv. If your looking for the conector where the wiring harness will plug into, it is located under the dash right in line with the throttle pedal towards the bottom of the dash. Mine was wire tired to silver bracket.
check wiring from battery to wiring harness to fuse (check fuse also) to harness to brake light. Check ground, too

No it is not. They changed the wiring in 2007, it is no longer "plug and play".

There is no harness persay. It appears that GM didn't put a plug in these vehicles so there is no plug-n-play harnesses. The wires are up in the dash and have to be spliced to a brake controller.
