On top of the divers side of the engine, toward the rear of the engine. Next to the valve cover. There will be a wire running from the wire loom to the sending unit.

Its not the oil sensor sending unit. More than likely its a bad connection at the temperature sending unit. I have a 95 wrangler that was reading 260 degrees. I had a couple bare wires touching at the temp sending unit. Fixed the wires and all better now. Otherwise its probably the gauge itself.
Yes. www.autozone.com component location. NEXT TO THE OIL FILTER.
It is in the oil Pan. You will have to drop the oil pan to change it.
right where the oil filter is, its that wire that gives you trouble when you try to replace the filter.
The sending unit is screwed in the head. Check to make sure the wire is attached and if it is, change the sensor.
Faulty sending unit.
Attached to the underside of the motor, accessed by removing the oil pan.
Right next to the oil filter, it kinda gets in your way when you are replacing the filter.

The gas sending unit for a 1987 Jeep Wrangler typically has a resistance value of around 0 to 90 ohms. This means that when the fuel tank is empty, the resistance is close to 0 ohms, and when the tank is full, it reaches approximately 90 ohms. However, it's always best to verify with a service manual or specific part documentation for accuracy.
