It should be the same as my 1995 Ford Explorer , there is a " hook " on the
front of both lower control arms
Using the factory jack : On the front there is a hook on the front of the lower control arms On the back place the jack under the axle tube below the leaf spring
On a 1996 Ford Explorer : On the front of the lower control arms you will see a hook ( or bar ) The factory jack is put there to change a front tire
On a 1999 Ford Explorer ( using the factory jack ) Front tire ( there are " hooks " on the front of the lower control arms ) Rear tire ( under the axle tube , below the leaf spring )
On a 2000 Ford Explorer : Using the factory jack : Front tire ( there are hooks / bars on the fronts of the lower control arms ) Rear tire ( under the axle tube below the leaf spring )
When changing a tire on a 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, you should place the tire jack under the designated jacking points. For the front tires, locate the jacking point behind the front wheel, on the frame rail. For the rear tires, the jacking point is just in front of the rear axle housing. Always ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and engage the parking brake for safety.
where ever you think
I goes under the passenger side back seat.
Humming noise on the front passenger side of a 1997 Ford Explorer XLT may be due to a bad tire. Try to jack up the tire and spin it by hand to see if the noise is there.
On a 1996 Ford Explorer : On the lower control arms on both sides of the vehicle you will see what looks like a hook ( or bar ) on the front side of the lower control arms The factory jack is placed there in order to change a front tire
The jack that came with the Explorer is placed under the rear axle " tube " between the bolts for the bracket on the rear leaf spring ( according to the picture in the Owner Guide )
under the car
On a 1996 Ford Explorer : The vehicle jack is supposed to be behind the removable plastic panel , on the drivers side of the cargo area , near the liftgate
