It was originally named the Swallow Sidecar Company in 1922 in Conventry, England building sidecars for motorcycles, then making their first car known as the SS Jaguar (SS Cars Ltd.) in 1935 to then make sport cars called the SS90 and the SS100. Jaguar was the name of the company in 1945 because they wanted to stop using "SS" because Nazi's were using that and didn't want people to think they were associating themselves with that.
