They were built in a plant in St. Louis up until the middle of the 1981 model year. The 1981 Corvette was the only model built split between the St Louis plant and the Bowling Green plant. The last 'Vette built in St Louis were also the last cars painted with lacquer, at Bowling Green the cars were painted with two step enamels.

Chevrolet Corvettes are made in Bowling Green Kentucky!
They are made exclusively in Bowling Green, Kentucky and no place else.
They used to be made of fiberglass, but now are a composite material, with a lot of carbon fiber, depending on which model you get. And, they are made in Bowling Green, Kentucy.
Originally they were made in Flint, Michigan They later moved to St. Louis, Missouri. Today the Corvette is manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
I cannot tell you the number, however, if you contact the factory in Bowling Green Kentucy, they will be able to tell you. I do know that it was a rare color. We were only allowed one in Reno, and I sold it. It was a convertible, with a black top.
The first Corvette was made in 1953, There were no Corvettes for sale to the public in 1983 there were however some made for test purposes but GM destroyed most of them after testing. There is ONE 1983 Corvette in the Museum in Bowling Green KY. They are currently making Corvettes so run out and put your order in at your Chevy dealer. Dave

The Chevrolet Corvette is a high performance American sports car made by General Motors beginning in 1953. All of the 1953 Corvettes were made in Flint, Michigan with first two production units completed on June 30, 1953. The 1954 to 1981 Corvettes were made in St. Louis, Missouri. The last Corvette built at St. Louis was completed on August 1, 1981.In 1981 there was a two month overlap in production of Corvettes as some were made in St. Louis and the remaining were made in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The first Corvette completed in the Bowling Green plant rolled off the line on June 1, 1981 and all Corvettes have been made there ever since. In 1983, only 44 Corvettes were built (no actual production run for that year) but only one of them still remains which is housed at the National Corvette Museum. The Corvette is considered America's premier sports car and has had one of the longest production runs of any car in history.Thank You!I knew that corvettes were made in flint hills for a while but i didn't know that they were made in St. Louis until 81!I have also wanted to know when the first was made. From,A big corvette fan!
This is a very unexact question. Corvettes could be bought in green but there is no exact specification. If you could tell me what Corvette you mean, then I would be happy to tell you (E.G. Stingray Coupe)
