the owners manual should say where the CD players fuse is located. off a simple guess i would think it would be under the back seat on the drivers side, but it could be under the hood as well.
The factory CD player is trash. Many failures noted to date.

Disconnect the battery or pull the correct fuse for the CD player, wait a minute then plug it back in. This may work for you.
Purchase a replacement
Check the cd player for items which may have been shoved into the player. If this is not the case the laser may have burnt out, a wire could be loose, or something else may have broken.

Remove the radio fuse under the rear seat, in the fuse box, leave it out for about a minute and then put it back. this is what worked on mine and my dealer told me to do this.
Begin by removing the cover to your 1996 Chevy Suburban CD player. Remove the CD player retaining bolts. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the CD player. Reverse the process to install your new CD player.
The fuse box is located under the dash on the drivers side, on the side. On the 2001 Chevy Tracker it is a 10amp fuse and it is marked DOM. To reset the radio or CD player pull the fuse out with a pair of needle nose pliers for 10 sec. and push it back in. This should reset the radio, clock and CD player.
my parents Trailblazer has the same issue, i think it has something to do with the CD player getting warm.. shut the car down for a little while to let things cool down and when you restart the car the CD should come out.
Fuse is built into the back of the player itself. To access just remove the cd/radio unit from its housing and you will see the fuse at the rear of the unit
