On 134a sysyems there are two ports, The high pressure side and low pressure side. The ports are different sizes. Add refridgerant to the BIGGER or FATTEST port. And remember that 16 ounces is equal to 1 lbs......so two 12 ounce cans equal 1 1/2 lbs. and DONT OVER FILL IT !!! Very costly mistake....and very danger, too.
The larger line is suction. The larger line is the suction side which should be on the right side of the compressor......
The suction line will be the larger line going into the compressor.
The AC Compressor will kick on and off to maintain approx 32 psi on the suction side of your Air Conditioning system. This creates a continuous cycle of Freon which will change from a Liquid on the suction side into a Gas on the Pressure side. During this exchange from Liquid to Gas cold air is created to cool your space.
The low side is from the H-valve or orifice tube to the suction side of the compressor. The low side is from the H-valve or orifice tube to the suction side of the compressor.
The suction side of a GM AC compressor is located at the inlet port, where refrigerant vapor is drawn into the compressor from the evaporator. This side typically has lower pressure compared to the discharge side, which expels high-pressure refrigerant vapor. The suction line connected to this port is usually larger in diameter and may be insulated to prevent heat gain.
The suction line connects the evaporator outlet and the compressor intlet. Low pressure refrigerator vapour is drawn from the evaporator to the compressor through this line.
Its on the low side (suction side) from the compressor to the accumulator........
These are terms used by refrigeration and air conditioning techs. The suction is refrigerant returning to the compressor from the evaporator, or the low side. The high side is the discharge or head pressure, where high temperature high pressure gas leaves the compressor to flow into the condenser. These systems should only be worked on by licensed and experienced techs.
It is on the suction line, down near the compressor. It is between the radiator fan and the engine, lower front, passenger side.
On the low side service port coming off the back of the a/c compressor on the suction aluminum line........
The low side of an air compressor is the side that air enters the system. Typically this occurs though a filter of some sort.
Depending on the year, make and model of this Ford, 80 percent of them will be on the accumulator that is attached to the evaporator next to the firewall and many others will be on the suction side of the manifold on the a/c compressor.............
