I guess your asking about the gear ratio. Write your VIN# down on a piece of paper and call a dealer ship and ask for parts, Then tell the parts man that you want to know the gear ratio in your truck. Then he'll ask for the vin# Give it to him and he'll tell you want you want to know
There should be a tag in glove box there should be gt4 or gt5 code gt4 tells you that 3.73 gear ratio gt5 is 4.10 gear ratio
it is a gear ratio 3:73 rear end limited slip
it could but you might need to trim the rear a little
Maybe but it depends upon what you mean by "rear end". Do you mean the axle and axle housing or the body of the truck? Keep in mind a 2000 Silverado is a different generation than a 1997.
The answer is some flat edge on a couple of needle bearings on the universal joint.
The same as any other vehicle. Start at the right rear, then left rear, then right front, and end up at the left front.
The rears should be compatible.. as for determining what the gear ratio is, if the RPO code isn't available to you, you would have to contact the service department of any Chevrolet dealership with the VIN number of the vehicle, and they could give you the specs of the vehicle.
the rear end is prob 3:42 limited slip rear end
You can call the dealer and give them the VIN# and ask them if they will tell you the gear ratio in your truck. PARTS DEPARTMENT. There's no way we can tell you what it is. If the GM dealer won't help you, then asked your question again and we will tell you what to do. so you will no yourself.
NO. That is a lite duty rear end.
NO Rear bearings are lubricated with the rear end / gear oil.
.356's
All you need to do is count the bolts that hold the rear end plate on the housing.
