Why are Ford famous?

I think a better way to phrase this is "Why is Ford so famous in America?". Ford is the protege of all American cars. They created the Model T which led to a booming business fro people who made these cars because now people who worked as plumbers and handymen could afford cheap reliable cars. Most people think of ford because of its tendency to create large cars. It may not be as large as GMC but they create very sturdy good comfortable cars. Almost all of the cars ford has are either mid-large size sedans, trucks, crossovers and SUV's. GMC and its child companies are often given mixed reviews due to the materials they use in their automobiles but ford is very well reviewed.
