According to my Chilton book, it's basically pretty easy. Apparently only 1 screw on each end of the top panel, then you pry it up. I saw a guy say in another forum that the dash has to be removed, but obviously he was only guessing because this is simply not true. It's quick and easy. OK, my Stratus is a 2000. if they are similar, the battery is in the driver side wheel well. There is a place under the hood can only say in mine!!!! Up toward the firewall is a ground lug and a red lug or fitting that is your access for charging etc with out taking the wheel well liner out. Hope this helps.
