The wiring harness on a blower motor for a Ford F150 is connected to the blower itself and the resistor switch that is under and/or behind the glove compartment on the vehicle. This resistor switch is a set of 3 or 4 wires connected by a plastic clip.
To remove the blower fan and switch in a 1995 GMC Safari, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Remove the dashboard panels to access the blower motor; this typically involves unscrewing several screws and clips. Disconnect the wiring harness from the blower motor and unscrew the motor from its mounting bracket. For the switch, locate it on the dashboard, disconnect the wiring harness, and remove any screws or clips securing it in place before pulling it out.
The blower motor resistor is above the passenger side close-out panel, below the glove compartment and towards the firewall. There will be a wiring harness leading from it to the blower motor and another harness leading into it. The harness leading into it will have a 4-wire connector and the harness leading to the blower motor will have a 2-wire connector.
Bad resistor at the blower motor? Bad blower motor switch?
Remove the blower motor retaining nuts. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the blower motor. Remove the fan from the blower motor. Reverse the process to install the new blower motor.
Under the hood. In the blower motor harness connector.
Defective blower motor, blower motor resistor pack, or blower motor speed control switch.
If you are saying the blower motor will not work, then check the fuse. If the fuse is not blown, then it is possibly a defective Blower Motor Resistor Pack, blower motor, or blower motor speed control switch, in that order. If you are saying the blower motor will not work, then check the fuse. Heater motor switch and or the connection at the switch is melted. Also check connections at the blower motor and blower motor resistor for melt down damage.
Blower motor fuse is blown. Blower motor resistor burned out. Blower motor switch bad. Blower motor bad.
