On a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer :
The " check gage " light comes on if the engine coolant temperature is too
high , the engine oil pressure is too low , or the gas gauge is at or near
empty
On a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer : The " CHECK ENGINE " warning light is just to the left of the battery voltage gauge
The check " gage " light on in your 1997 Mercury Mountaineer indicates that either your engine oil pressure is LOW , your engine temperature is HIGH or your gas tank is AT OR NEAR EMPTY .
Your fuel is low. Its telling you to check your gas gauge...
The check engine light is just to the left of your battery voltage gauge in your gauge cluster . When you turn your ignition key to the run position , just before starting your engine , the check engine light should come on momentarily to check the bulb
my check engine light stays on and the o/d light blinks....what could this mean?
An engine misfire has been detected
Try disconecting the battery for 5 min.s and reconecting.
An ignition misfire has been detected
check brake fluid level.
If the check engine light is blinking that means that an engine cylinder misfire has been detected
I had the same problem on my 2002 Ford Explorer, after I replaced the gas cap the light turned off
had to replace the battery in my 2002 Mercury Mountaineer but now the theft light is blinking, it is cranking up. How can I stop it?
