You have a vacum leak. A big one. Check all your hoses. Idle should be under 1k rpms
min of 5 psi at idle 45 to 68 at 3000 rpms
15 LBS. at idle, and at least 40 LBS. at 3000 RPMS.
carbs need to be rebiult
The Idle Air Control valve located in the throttle body.
A picture of an idle??? Idle is a state of operation not an actual part. As in, the engine is idling at 750 rpms. A picture of an engine at idle would look almost exactly like a picture of an engine that is running at 3000 RPM or shut off.
The first thing it sounds like is a vacuum. if not, check timing.
Could be throttle plate stuck open Try to free it with screwdriver with engine off
no engine starts at 3000 rpm, most stardarded idle speed is 750 rpm......<---HES RIGHT ABOUT THE IDLE PART BUT ENGINES START AT AROUND 15-1700 RPM THEN QUICKLY GO DOWN TO 650-900 RPM IDLE SEVERAL THINGS CAN CAUSE THIS "IDLE CONTROL MOTOR" THEY CAN BE REMOVER AND CLEANED IN MOST CASES AND A THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR HAS CAUSED THIS IN THE PAST PDP
Not sure about 95 saturns. However, an engine, with central fuel injection, may have an idle control solenoid or an idle control motor. A faulty idle control can cause the rpms to flucuate and may be corrected with a cleaning and lubriation or may have to be replaced at a cost of approximately $75.00 for the part. The reason I say this is because the excelerator mechanism is not in contact with the idle control when driving.
Most cars are anywhere between 750-800 rpms
sounds to me like your base idle..... check your throttle body 1st, make sure the throttle butterfly is going back to it's stopper.... if so your base idle can be a bit hard describe with out showing... try googleing it maybe:)
