Erratic idling in a Ford Mondeo can be caused by several issues, including a dirty or faulty idle air control valve (IAC), vacuum leaks, or problems with the fuel system such as a clogged fuel filter or failing fuel pump. Additionally, issues with the ignition system, like worn spark plugs or ignition coils, can also lead to inconsistent revs. It's advisable to have the vehicle diagnosed by a professional to pinpoint the exact cause and ensure proper repairs.
I assume that this is a petrol engined Mondeo The Mondeo's idle speed is controled by a sealed air system Most erattic idling problems are caused by an air leak somewhere in the system.
You have a vacuum leak at the intake.
Um that's not right, that's a red flag. Get it checked out.
5800 rpm's
mite be the icv (located near the rev cable) that needs cleaning i had same problem idling around 400 and sometimes cutting out a carb cleaner will clean it
Where is the ford ranger 2004 revcounter sensor conected
that is impossible. "rev" is short for "revolve", RPM stands for revolutions per minute. your engine cannot rev without increasing the rpm's. the only thing i could think of that would resemble rev's would be a bad fan clutch which would make your fan spin erratically. newer vehicles use electric fans which could also resemble "rev's".
Its 4K RPM's.
the idle air controll valve is broken. You will need a new one.
because fords suck.
