If your dashboard and number plate lights aren't working on your Ford Fiesta Mk 6, it could be due to a blown fuse, a faulty light bulb, or an issue with the wiring or connectors. Check the fuse box for any blown fuses related to the interior or exterior lights. If the fuses are fine, inspect the bulbs and wiring for damage or corrosion. If the problem persists, it may be best to consult a professional mechanic for further diagnosis.
It could be due to shorting of the rear number plate light fittings. This is what I found on my mondeo. The number plate and dashboard lights share a single fuse in the Mondeo, perhaps this is also the case in the Fiesta. The bulb holder had been bent out of shape and dislodged from its mount and was able to contact the metal of the hatch causing a short. This generally happened when I went over a bump with the lights on. It took me a long time to figure this because I had assumed that the fault lay under the dash. The fix was very simple, just a case of removing the number plate light cover, bending the bulb holder back in to shape and clipping it to its mount. Hope this helps

You can find the fuse box under the dashboard or in the engine compartment, depending on the specific model. It's advisable to consult the owner's manual for the exact fuse location and specifications. If the number plate lights are not functioning, checking this fuse is a good first step.
