i have a model similar to your's. there is little you can do without getting your hands dirty and going into the engine, which most people dont like to do that, simple things you can do is; fuel injector cleaner (read label for tank size the bottle is designed for) buy a bigger air filter, new spark plugs, for this model i would say autolite, whichever kind as the biggest end to get the biggest spark. if you dont want to buy new spark plugs then at least clean your old ones. very cheap ways to do a lot. what i ended up doing to my truck is clean the fuel injectors out with paper clip, gave me a lot more power. fuel injector cleaner is more of a preventative but it will give you 10-15 more horsepower back. replacing your belt will probably reduce power, but is better for the engine. new air filter and at least cleaning your old spark plugs is a must.
A faulty engine coolant temp sensor (the one next to the thermostat housing) can also cause that condition.
Yes
There is something not right with the engine.
can a chevy truck with a 350 engine with a tbi cause detonation and pre- ignition?
The crankshaft sensor is located in the engine on a Chevy 1500 truck. This is under the hood.
There is such a thing as a 454 truck engine, also 454 passenger car engine.
Which engine?
Who said it won't ? It will fit right in there with NO problems
truck gas flooding
No, it would not be able to handle engine braking.
yes
No it will not even BOLT UP to the 20OO year engine block. Chevy redesigned the transmissions and engine blocks in late 1999. Will not interchange.
