I would expect that the power for the fuel pump would be supplied through the ignition switch so I would start there, that is check the ignition switch.
Also check the associated wiring for cuts or possibly a loose plug connection.

The squeal is often caused by the power steering belt slipping. Check the serpentine belt to see if it needs replacement.
