my 92 Ford Explorer has the same problem and i dont know why...
i turn the key to on, then the light for the low range turns on w/o turning the motor over
i tried pushing the button off, but light stays on and i just noticed it last night, plus i drove it and it seemed to drive just fine as if it were not even in low range??????????
Hi! I had an Expedition with the same issue, check and ensure that your tires, all four are inflated properly. This should allow you to then take it out of low range
