Lip seals in the clutch drums are worn and hard. When cold the don't hold fluid pressure but they expand when warm thus allowing fluid pressure to build up. If you can't tolerate this till the fluid warms the only fix is to dismantle the transmission and change the lip seals in the clutch drums.
No it will shift slow.
balls. balls will slow shafting
I would check the transmission fluid, if the level is good i would get the transmission diagnose you may need to remove or replace the transmission.
dirty tranny fluid
you might need a new one soon. but first check your transmission fluid.
would you rather it shift slow????????
Likely, your shift linkage from the carb to the tranny has become disconnected. Or, it's designed that your engine is supposed to slow so the transmission can safely shift gears. I say just live with it. It's not causing any problems.
My V10 2001 Dodge slow shifting was solved by replacing the catalytic converters. The ECU was detecting load/stress, like pulling a trailer up a hill. So it signaled to the transmission to not shift up to the next gear. After CAT replacement the shifting was fine. For me this was NOT a transmission issue.
Quite possibly you may need the trans serviced. Probably has a partially clogged trans filter.
Too fast or slow of rpm for gear your trying to switch into A bad or going bad shift synchronizer
i have a 200 f150 p/u if I put my foot into it it will accellerate and shift as it should until 60 mph. at that time it will over rev and I have to slow down and dissengage over drive.
slow to start from cold and starts when warm
