The flashers are located on the top of the steering wheel like they would be in a 2005 Chevy trail blazer.

There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.
The ac compressor is shot. Usually what your hearing is a bearing that is moving around.
