Yes and no ......the frame on the 86 is wider ud have to drill new holes in the 77 body for it fit and make different mounts for the doghouse etc alot of hassle but its always possible if I remember right the 80s frames were 6 inches wider cause we tried to put a 88 cab and motor on a 76 highboy frame and it was to much pain so we got a 95 frame its backward from what your doing maybe find a older truck frame close to your year i do believe the 80s rangers had a similar frame width but it wont be as strongly built in my opinion

Can I convert a 1986 E350 frame to use as a 1989 F250 4x4 frame?

Converting a 1986 E350 frame to function as a 1989 F250 4x4 frame is not straightforward due to significant differences in design and specifications between the two models. The E350 is a van chassis, while the F250 is a truck chassis, leading to variations in dimensions, suspension, and drivetrain compatibility. While some parts may be interchangeable, extensive modifications would be necessary, and it may not be the most practical or cost-effective solution. It's advisable to consider using an F250 frame directly for a more reliable and efficient build.

What is the difference in weight between a ford f150 f250 f350?

It depends on year, because there was a light duty F250 prior to the latest series of Super Duty (F250+) which started in 1999. There is a huge difference in frame/driveline between an F150 and the F250/F350. 1999 to 2004, the difference between the F250 & F350 was minimal, the GVWR of the 250 was 8800lbs & the 350 (not dually) was 9900lbs. 2005+ saw the GVWR's increase significantly. The dry weight of a crew cab diesel F250/F350 with 8' box and 4x4 is in the mid 7000lbs range. The F150 SCREW (not sure on this) would likely weight in the mid 6000's. Ton's of other differences but too much to get into here.

How is the Ford F250 truck different from the F150 model?

The Ford F250 is a 3/4 ton truck and the F150 is a 1/2 ton truck. The main purpose for these differences, is pointing out the towing capabilities for each truck. The major difference between the F150 and F250 is size and power. The F250 has a more powerful drivetrain and can tow and haul more cargo.

What years of trucks will a tailgate from a 1996 Ford F-250 fit?

the model year 1992-1996 the tailgates and body styles for the f150, f250, and f350 were that same and the 1997 f250 and f350 were the still the same design. The f150 however were not. so in short it will fit a 92-96 f150, or a 92- 97 f250 or f350.
