Yes, you can. I have done many engine swaps on Geos and 1989 geo metro engines are compatible all the way up to 1997. Just make sure if your geo is a stick shift, that the new engine you bought is also a stickshift or you'll have to do some serious work. Hope this helped.
If its from 85 then its NOT a geo metro engine. It is probably a Chevrolet Sprint engine because they only started making Geos in 88. If you need an engine for your 95 Geo then you could use one of the following: 1991 - 1995 Geo Metro engine. 1991 - 1995 Suzuki Swift Engine, and 1991 - 1995 Pontiac FireFly engine. Hope this helps :)
No, a 91 metro transmission will not fit in a 98. A 91 will fit any metro between 1988 - 1996 though. After 1996 a lot of Metro's became 4 Cylinder which made them different from the previous generation metros. It may fit if the engine sizes are correct (1.0 litre 3 cylinder to the same but do not mix and match).
can someone tell me how to adjust timing on a geo metro 1996
changing the thermostat in a 1991 geo metro 1.3 liter
The engine of a 1996 Geo Metro weighs approximately 150 to 200 pounds, depending on the specific engine type and configuration. The Metro typically came with a 1.0L or 1.3L four-cylinder engine. This weight is relatively light compared to many other engines, reflecting the Metro's design as an economical and fuel-efficient vehicle.
yes
yes and the transmission too is recomended..... These trans are not so reliable and if there's lower miles on the 2000 you should swap out the entire rig
yes.... but why would you want to
The 1991 Geo Metro EGR valve can be located on the air cleaner housing. The valve will be on the back of the housing.
Maybe on front bottom of engine behind radiator Follow + battery cable
No they will not fit. after 1994 the Geo Metro developed a new more curved body system. You can use a 1989 - 1994 Geo Metro door though.
The geo metro was a version of the Suzuki Cultus that was produced from 1989-2001. The geo metro came with a 49 horsepower engine.
