If you have the two cars....complete...sitting there, it will make the job a lot easier. I'm not one for putting a Chevy in a Pontiac....but that's a matter of choice and opinion. You'll need to change the frame mounts for the engine and the Pontiac transmission won't bolt up to the Chevy. You'll need the tranny from the Camaro too. In essence they are the same car. They use the same sub frame. As stated before, you'll have to do some parts swapping but if both are sitting there it should be fairly easy.
Ive got a 79 camaro that I just put a m22 munsey in. There shouldn't be a problem installing one in a 78 trans am
No, the steel bumpers from a 1977 Camaro will not fit in a 1978 Camaro, As the 1978 "Bumper" is part of the front end. Taking off the 1978 "Bumper" would mean cutting it off, which would make the car look like something else.
no
The cast of Trans - 1978 includes: Carol Warner as Solo - dancer
Depends on what your interpretation of "faster" is. Top speed, 0 to 60...etc. What engine, transmission and rear end gears? I can tell you this...the 78 Camaro had a 305.....maybe a 350. The 78 T/A was available with a Pontiac 400. More horsepower and torque than the Camaro. Both cars with the same drive train and gearing...with the top engine offered for both cars....the T/A is "faster".
Considering the fact that the Trans Am is a unibody and the Malibu is a full frame car...NO
ok good choice
165hp
On the front of the engine
.The 1978 Pontiac Trans Am engine oil dipstick can be found on the right hand side of the engine. The engine oil dipstick will have a yellow handle.
