Yes. Sergio Marchionne, Fiat's boss, announced that in late 2010. The better news is that this engine has already been tested and put in the 2011 Grand Cherokee, so any "bugs" will already be worked out before it gets into the Wrangler. The performance difference is amazing. The current V6 in the Wrangler rates at 202 hp, whereas the Pentastar V6 will have a much higher rating. It's capable of 275 to 305 hp, so even on the low-end, it would be considerably higher. Plus this engine is quieter and gets better gas mileage than the older engine. This should improve the sales of an already successful vehicle for Chrysler.
