You have an automatic transmission on your 1995 Ford Mustang you cannot shift into any gears the shifter just slides up and down how would one go about repairing it themselves?

Sounds like the shift linkage is broken or disconnected somewhere. You'll need to find and repair the problem. Shouldn't be too hard.
