A cats paw will fit nicely into the grove just in front of the flywheel (engine side) The curve on the long pry side is just enough to slip into the oval hole in the fly wheel while coming straight out and you can rest it on the frame of the vehicle. All this takes place where the starter mounts to the flywheel. You must have removed the starter and the starter dust cover. Use a 15mm wrench to turn the fly wheel with one of the three flywheel to torque converter bolts toward the starter hole then the above can be done to lock the flywheel into place.

to remove the starter on the 4.3 Blazer, remove all the bolts EXCEPT THE UPPERMOST ONE on the driver's side, on the flywheel housing. this will allow you to slide the housing about 1/2" - 3/4" back, and the starter will drop free. then it's a few twist and jiggling so you can get to the lugs that hold the wiring in place. it's easier to get the starter bolts back in if you put the housing back to where it will keep the starter from dropping. I just went thru this yesterday - I looked it up on the internet; "remove starter on 4.3 Blazer".
