this is usally caused by your speed censor is gone it should be located on top of transmission drivers side of car it is the one with 2 wires plugged into it.
there is no speed cable, it has a electronic transmission with wires
If the speedometer is not working but the odometer is, I would suspect the dash cluster is at fault. If both speedometer and odometer are not working I would suspect the speed sensor on the transmission is at fault.
It is probably the speed sensor. It is located on the transmission and sends an electrical signal to the speedometer.
If both the odometer and the speedometer do not work it may be the speed sensor in the transmission is bad. If only the odometer does not work it is probably a bad cluster.
Yes it is.
If both the speedometer and odometer stopped working it is probably the speed sensor in the transmission gone bad. If only the speedometer quit you may have to replace the dash cluster with a reconditioned unit.
If both the speedometer and the odometer do not work I would suspect the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) located on the tail shaft of the transmission is at fault. If only the speedometer doesn't work it's probably a problem with the dash cluster.
where is the speed sensor for the transmission located in 2001 chevy venture
Automatic
The 1997 version has the 4T60e transmission
To fix the speedometer and odometer on a 1997 Chevy S10, start by checking the vehicle's speed sensor, located on the transmission. If the sensor is faulty, replace it. Additionally, inspect the wiring and connections for any damage or corrosion. If these components are functioning correctly, the issue may lie within the instrument cluster itself, which may require repair or replacement.
unhook it from the speedometer head and unhook it from the tranny and take it out.
