Most likely because they all did in that time. The delegates were wealthy men and they did have slaves, so the chances that he did have slaves is probably 95%.

Yes, several if not most did. The delegates from the south in particular included slave owners who had cotton farms as businesses. It's known that George Washington even owned slaves.
