Include the following information in your resume and cover letter: announcement number of job, personal information, work experience, education, other qualifications and references.

      Contact joblines for the House of Representatives at (202) 226-4504 or the Senate at (202) 228-JOBS for information about congressional openings. Each house of Congress has its own Human Resources office.

      Submit an online resume for congressional jobs (recommended) or mail a cover letter and resume to the specific Human Resources office. Include the vacancy announcement number on the cover letter and the outside of the envelope.

      Be open to civil service positions. The General Printing Office is part of the Legislative Branch, yet most positions are civil service.
