To ease post war tensions with the hope that the union could be restored and our country could get over the war.
Extremely self-absorbed and greedy as far as I can see. I find the cruelty to children and animals most disturbing. How can we hope to achieve gracious good manners when we are fighting for civilty and humane treatment . Continue to lead by example and hope for the best, and raise your children well. It's all we can do.
I once had a project where I had to do one-two sentences about each word from the Great Depression and the 1920s. Basically a dictionary. For X I think I did xenophobia, because they were scared of immigrants in the 1920s. hope i helped (;

Well, for short-term yes, long-term no. First let me just say, The great society was a domestic program that was intended to end poverty, racial discrimination, create more schools and education, better medical care, and help the economy. President Lyndon B. Johnson created this program after John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Some things from his program are still in use today like Medicare and Medicaid, others were very helpful to minorities like the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and education opportunities. So it did not last though because we entered the Vietnam war and it just strained the economy. P.S--> I hope that helped answer your question.
