In 1801, the American flag featured 15 stars. This design was adopted in 1795, following the admission of Vermont and Kentucky as states. The flag had 15 stripes as well, representing the original 13 colonies along with the two additional states. The number of stars would later change as more states joined the Union.

The order of the American flag is known as "The Flag Code," which is a set of guidelines established by the U.S. government to govern the display and handling of the flag. The code outlines proper protocols, such as when to display the flag, how to fold it, and how to treat it with respect. It emphasizes that the flag should always be displayed with dignity and never allowed to touch the ground. Additionally, the flag should be illuminated if displayed at night.

Lester B. Pearson was Prime Minister in 1967 when Canadians got their national flag.
The Current Canadian Flag was 'invented' during the minority government of Lester B. Pearson.
He proposed the idea and all of Canada sent in 3000 designs to parliament to be voted on. Then parliament narrowed it down to 3 designs. Pearson wanted the 'Pearson Pennant Flag' which had blue and 3 maple leafs. Quebec wanted it with a Quebec symbol. But Parliament chose the flag we have today. SO HE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CREATION OF THE CANADIAN FLAG.
George Stanley and John Matheson are creditted as the flag's creators. They would have created the flag between 1964 (when Lester B. Pearson began to address the issue of the flag) and 1965 (when their design was adopted by the country).
In 1964, Lester B. Pearson began a heated debate over the changing of the Canadian flag. He purposed a contest in which Canadians could submit possible designs for the flag and a final flag would be chosen from them. Hundreds of designs were submitted, and on February 15, 1965 the current version of the flag was chosen.
Lester B. "Mike" Pearson was the 14th Prime Minister of Canada. He invented the Canadian healthcare system, their student loan system, the Canadian flag, the Canada Pension Plan, the Order of Canada, got rid of capital punishment in Canada, and won the Nobel Peace Prize for setting up the UN Emergency Force to resolve the Suez Canal Crisis. He was a very impressive man, and has many things named for him.

In 1961. the leader of the Opposition Party, Lester Pearson, proposed the idea for a new flag. Lester just proposed the idea, several others were part of the new flag.
