The American Revolution had little effect on either women or African American slaves. The Constitution deliberately left out rights for slaves or women, and addressed the liberties won to white property holders. The status of slaves remained unchanged, and many of the founding fathers who had fought for freedom were actually slave owners. Women continued to be denied suffrage and, once married, could no longer hold property.

Women had a huge role in the Revolutionary War they gained new emphasis on liberty and were given jobs to maintain their land while their husbands were off fighting. Some women even followed soldiers to help with nursing and domestic needs. This social status of women had never been so positive. That's why when the war ended women gained more rights by proving themselves.

The Revolutionary War embedded a great need for slavery in the US to create the materials needed to maintain war with Great Britain. Although there were no African-American soldiers until the Great Civil War, they were still being brought in by boats under very harsh conditions. These ships carrying supplies and slaves were always under enemy suppression. That made an economical effect on both slaves and society.
