∙ 13y agoNo one "forced" Nixon to resign. It was the only course of action he could take to avoid impeachment ("firing") on criminal charges and possible incarceration. Given the mood of the country at the time if he had stayed in office there is a strong possibility that he would have been legally removed from office and could have been jailed for his crimes.
