The King of England actually closed down Boston harbor until the tea was paid off. The expense of the tea was as much as $13 million today. The closure of the harbor caused merchants and others to not be able to pay for food and such. Other colonies worked to keep those merchants and others fed. This was one of the events through which the colonies created unity.
The King supported it because he was mad at the Patriots/Colonists because of the Boston Tea Party.
More colonists joined the patriots to fight in the American Revolutionary War.
Comapny to sell tea below the price of the smuggled tea. Boston Tea Party - 1773, Samuel Adams led patriots ships disguised as Indians and raid of British ships dumped the loads of tea in to the Boston Harbor
The american patriots name for a serious of punitive laws passed by the british parliament in 1774 after the boston tea party they were meant to punish the massachusetts colonists for their defince in throwing a large tea shipment into boston harbor
The Boston Tea Party was in 1773. Colonists in Boston ruined three shiploads of British tea by dumping it into the harbor because they didn't want to pay taxes on it. They weren't patriots, they were protesters. The Declaration of Independence was still 3 years from being written, and the U.S. wasn't a nation yet.
so, there is NO difference from tea party and patriots
Paul Revere, among others, threw tea into the sea to protest against Britain.
this happened because king George had placed the tea act .some people were asleep during the Boston tea party . The Boston tea party was named after what happened . Patriots dressed as Mohawk Indians , went into ships ,got the tea and dumped it into the sea .After this King George got mad so the patriots had to pay for all of the tea they had dumped.
Tea Party Patriots's motto is 'Fiscal Responsibility, Limited Government, Free Markets'.
In the revolutionary war people took sides as either a partiot or as a loyalist. Patriots believed in freedom and no longer wished to be under British rule. While Loyalist felt they had to be loyal to the British king and did not believe in the freedom the patriots had thought of. Thomas Paine had wrote a famous news collom called 'Common Sense' it talked about his beliefs towards the king of Britain and his own as a patriot. Thomas Paine was a patriot and made that very clear, he argued about British rule through 'Common Sense'. Patriots fought in war against the British and the British fought in war to try to keep their rule of America. The Boston tea party was held by patriots when the British refused to stop their taxation toward the colonies for tea. During the Boston tea party patriots snuck on a British ship sending shipping their tea disguised as native Americans and dumped all of the tea into the harbor. You may be wondering why tea was so important to the Americans. It was not the tea that meant so much. But, It was the overall fact of taxing the Americas for their goods that really bothered them. Patriots had won the war on the 4th of July. This would be a good topic to do some research on because this is a topic that reaches far more than what I can tell you!
I'm in 6th grade and i just studied this... The patriots did a lot of things, including Boycotting. They specifically boycotted during the Tea and Stamp Act. (Boycotting is when someone refuses to buy something). The Patriots would also write propaganda about the loyalists, while some of the information was way over dramatic, to make the loyalist look bad, and to make Neutralists go to the Patriots side, instead of joining Britain, and to make the colonies angry at britain.
Yepppppp
tea
A loyalist was considered a person from the colonies that didn't want to break away from England. Their reasons for not wanting to varied, but for most of them it was #1 fear of the British government #2 the protection and benefits from England.A patriot on the other hand, was a person that dissagreed with taxes on tea. You see, the British needed money after the revolutionary war to keep the army together. In order to get this money, they put taxes on things. The patriots didn't like it, so the British agreed to take taxes off everything except tea. The patriots wanted more! Eventually, it wasn't just taxes the patriots hated. They decided they didn't want to be at all a part of England. That was their belief.Hope this helps.
Because the British took away all the taxes except the one on tea, this did not satisfy the Patriots that is why the Patriots dressed as mohawk indians and dumped 342 crates of tea into Boston Harbor.
