Obviously, it was not good. But the irony was not lost on all of the founders. It took a lot of time for us to sort out many things and I'm grateful that we did; we are still in the process. No one can expect human beings to be perfect before they get something good started. If the Declaration of Independence and the flawed but resilient Constitution that followed had not been written, would Barak Obama be the most powerful individual on earth?

This was rebutting the Devine Rights of kings, and that everyone is created equal as not to be classified by property or possessions, or status.
Off the top of my head, I can only think of one signer who became a cabinet member, and that was Thomas Jefferson, who was Secretary of State under Washington, but he resigned in 1793.

I Think About A Year. Because The Declaration Of Independence Was Being Made 1776.
The sixth signer of the Declaration of Independence was Button Gwinnett. He was a Georgia delegate and signed the document on August 2, 1776. Gwinnett was also one of the signers who died as a result of a duel in 1777.
I think you just did it.
The Declaration of Independence only declared the independence of the American colonists from Britain, so yes, they did meet that promise. I think you are thinking of the Constitution.
