Dependence on English goods led to more Wampanoag land sales, leading to increased tension between settlers and Natives. In 1675 three Wampanoag men were tried and executed by the British for the killing of a converted Wampanoag male. The Wampanoags began attacking English settlement's, and soon the whole region was in conflict.

First of all, the colonists of the New England colony stole or "bought" the land from the Indians and kept it all for themselves. Also, some of the Puritans killed the Indians living there.
