Well, to start it all off the French and Indian war was really the first event that occurred that lead up to the revolutionary war. The war lasted for nine years 1754-1763, the British ended up winning the war and they won the right to keep Canada and several possessions in the new world. Following that was the sugar act and the stamp act. The sugar act taxed sugars coffee, indigo, and certain kinds of wine. It banned importation of rum and French wines. The people that it affected were very vocal about these decisions they did not like it at all and they did not hesitate to say so. The stamp act caused a riot. Every newspaper, pamphlet, and other public and legal document had to have a Stamp, or British seal, on it. And with no doubts the seals cost money and the people were furious they thought it was not fair for them to have to start paying for something they have gotten for free for years. Following that around the 1770's was the Boston massacre. It was not really the kind of massacre you would think of it was a shooting of five American colonist but British troops. Only one of them was killed but the others were wounded. The guy who was killed was named Crispus Attacks. British said that the colonists were throwing rocks and other weapons of the such. The British had guns and they decided to go with a open fire. In 1773 the Boston tea part occurred. American colonists referring themselves the Sons of Liberty, boarded three British ships the Dartmouth, the Eleanor, and the Beaver and dumped 342 whole crates of British tea into Boston harbor. In the next few months the same type of thing occurred in places such as Maryland, New York, and New Jersey. Eventually people stopped buying tea throughout the colonies. The reasoning for this was because they were angry and frustrated about a new tax on tea.
