The Aztecs government was a system of tribute. Their leaders lead several invasions. Each city had its own king or emperor, and each city had its own laws.
Aztecs citizens where heavily taxed, mainly the richer people. The Aztecs had a pretty firm government, until one point they had a very not so good at it guy leading the capital. At that time, Cortez and the Spanish invaded and took over the mexicas home.
