Why would nations other than Britain care about the outcome of the American Revolution?

The reason why other nations besides Britain would care about the outcome of the American Revolution because it shows that even the Continental Army which was a small group of untrained merchants and farmers that had no navy or proper weapons could still beat the powerful british army that was properly trained, that any other army in this globe could beat them, like the Americans. Plus it shows that we (Americans) will fight for freedom and indenpendence, and that no one ( any country ) can't power us.

What would a boycott of British goods probably have had at the time of the American Revolution?

Before American gained its independence, it was a colony of Great Britain and Great Britain's policy is that their colonies can only trade with them and no other nation. So, when the American Revolution started and a boycott was started, then U.S. would have to rely on themselves for resources or see if any other nations are willing to trade with them.
