The four main taxes imposed by the British on the American colonists were the Stamp Act, the Townshend Acts, the Tea Act, and the Intolerable Acts. The Stamp Act required colonists to purchase stamps for printed materials like newspapers and legal documents. The Townshend Acts taxed goods such as glass, paper, paint, and tea. The Tea Act specifically aimed to tax tea and grant the British East India Company a monopoly on its sale, while the Intolerable Acts were punitive measures that included various restrictions and taxes in response to colonial dissent.

In the Confederacy a person who did agree with secession was often refered to as a "Unionist" or a "Union man". Those of course were the polite terms. People of the North who sympathized with the secessionists were called "copperheads".
Lydia Darragh was a Quaker, and her beliefs forbid her to get involved with the war. This was an advantage for the British because they could have meetings at her house. She would send the rest of her family to bed and then hide in the closet which was in the meeting room. She heard them plan an attack on General George Washington so she told one of his troops about the British plan to attack. The planned British victory was gone.
A colonist and a British soldier got into a fight more colonists and British soldiers arrived, the colonists were throwing snowballs and calling the British soldiers names. A few of the British soldier's fired into the crowd killing a few colonists.
it was when the colonists were throwin snowballs nd some other items at the British soldier. den the British soldier attacked on of the colonist creatin a crowd of ppl agaisnt the british soldier. so the a small number of british troops came nd the used their guns nd shot five of the colonist. them it got a national name nd it was Boston massarce It pretty much started the way it said above. This started with the tax. The colonists didn't like to pay the tax that England (I think) was making. This started the hatred and the thoughts of independence. Colonists were calling soldiers names like "Bloody-Backs" and "Lobster-Backs," making fun of their clothes. One day, a colonist hated the soldiers so much, he threw a rock at him. The colonist started calling names. More soldiers came for back-up. More colonists came too. They started argueing and they started fighting.
