Many interest groups and political parties form as a branch or a previous organisation, but members mainly join for a purpose or goal, a common belief, for solidarity and positive incentives.
John Marshall believed in the Constitution, but it was a less invasive take. He believed that laws should only be added to it as needed, but that people did not need to follow them word-for-word.

Jackson could see that such a right would pretty much erase central government and that logically could lead to the right to secede from the union altogether.
