King James I, if you are talking about the royal house in England.
The correct quote is " Men will never be free until the last king is strangled by the entrails of the last priest" ascribed to Denis Diderot
Supratisthitavarman succeeds Susthitavarman as king of the Varman dynasty in Assam.

Since Kings are not elected, you would need to be the son of the current King or perhaps some other blood relative, and raised and taught to ultimately be the King. Alternatively, as history has repeatedly shown, any motivated individual with suitably motivated and armed supporters can become King. In some cases, when the royal line has died out, a replacement might be peacefully elected from amongst a group of peers or contenders, such as happened after the "Time of Troubles" in Russia when the Rurykid Dynasty failed and the Romanov Dynasty was established. I don't think that academic qualifications have ever been a prerequisite for kingship of any country.
Chandragupta Maurya
Mahapadma Nanda was the founder of the Nanda dynasty of Magadh empire.
The Nanda king insulted Chandragupta Maurya by sending him a bowl of food made with bad meat to belittle him, but Chandragupta responded by eating the food in a dignified manner and then using the bowl to kill a lion. This act showcased Chandragupta's strength and determination in seeking revenge against the Nanda dynasty.

the last king of safavi dynasty
Chandragupta Maurya founded the Mauryan Empire after defeating Dhana Nanda (the last king of the Nanda dynasty) assisted by Kautilya (Chanakya). It is said that Chandragupta would not have succeeded in defeating Dhana Nanda without the help of Kautilya. However, the greatest ruler of the Mauryan Empire was Ashoka, who is known to have been an invader first and then a peace-loving Buddhist missionary. Ashoka ordered the preaching of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, China, Burma, Indonesia and many other nations during his reign. Also, Ashoka was the best ruler because he made Mauyra powerful and steady.
