No. He did chase after her however, and when his wife Persephone found out she became very upset and jealous and turned Minthe into a Mint plant.
Hades lover/wife is Persephone.
Ah, let's paint a happy little picture of Greek mythology! Hades, the god of the underworld, had a lovely wife named Persephone. Some stories also mention that Hades was previously married to a goddess named Melinoe. Just like painting, mythology is full of beautiful details and stories waiting to be explored.
Nymph Errant was created in 1933.
The nymph was called Echo
Echo is not a goddess. She was an Oread, or mountain nymph, of unknown parentage.SHE WAS A NYMPH
Hades lover/wife is Persephone.
Nobody really knows. Hades was never married. But taking Persephone as his wife and queen of the underworld was by force. It was never Persephone's choice. According to Ovid and the geographer Strabo, Hades took the nymph Menthe or Minthe as his mistress. Persephone jealously trampled the unfortunate girl, transforming her into a plant, known as mint.
Leuke a nymph daughter of Oceanus, was carried of by Hades - and made his lover; after her death, she was changed into a white poplar in Elysium.
Kyane in Ovid's Metamorphoses.
Hades, in Greek mythology, is said to have two children: Macaria, the goddess of blessed death, and Melinoe, the underworld nymph. These offspring are not as well-known as some of the other children of the Greek gods.
The nymph Leuce, who was ravished by Hades, was metamorphosed by him into a white poplar tree after her death.
This is why I hate Disney's Hercules. The character Megara was a brutal amalgamation of two legitimate and completely separate mythological characters- the princess Megara, Heracles' second wife, and Megaera, the Fury (along with Tisiphone and Alecto). There is no record of either being Hades' lover- only two women, neither mortal, are mentioned in that capacity. Minthe was his lover before he abducted Persephone; either Persephone or Demeter destroyed her for her arrogant boasting. Leuce was the other- she was a nymph of Cocytus- and she was turned into a white poplar after she died. *EDIT* After saving the question, I realized that it was under the Movie category, not the mythology one. However, I stand by what I said above. The shorter, nicer answer is, no.
no it is not a nymph, a nymph is a mythological creature
Yes --- Of course he can, he just chooses not to. The big three of the Olympians were Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. When ever two of these three came into conflict with each other they chose arbitration rather than battle - this demonstrates self-control. eg. When Hades raped Zeus' daughter Persephone (kidnapped her and forced her to marry him) Zeus initially did nothing, preferring not to contend with Hades. It was only after extensive protests by Ceres (the girl's mother) that Zeus worked out a compromise that was decidedly in Hades' favour. eg. When Zeus and Poseidon contended over the nymph Thetis, Prometheus arbitrated and gave the nymph to a mortal king so neither of the Gods could have her.
