Zeus approached his father Cronus as a stranger and gave him a drink that made him throw up his siblings
Some say that Metis administered an emetic drug in order to make Cronus vomit up his devoured children, while others say that Zeus cut open his father's stomach to release his brothers and sisters.
Because there was a phophsey, that Cronus' children would overthrow him as ruler of the universe, so Cronus' plan was to swallow every child Rhea had (Hera, Demeter, Hestia Poseidon, and Hades)but Zeus was saved by his mother, the youngest - for who Rhea fooled Cronus by bundling a rock. Zeus was sent to an island for safety, but he went back to make his father, Cronus, regurgitate all his siblings. In conclusion, Zeus was important because he saved all his siblings.
Why did cronus swallow his children? Let ME explain this better. Cronus was told that the next son he would have would kill him and rule the gods. So, cronus ate his 5 children. But his wife hid the last child and gave cronus a rock instead of Zues and when he was old enough he had metis create a potion that would make cronus spit up the children he had swallowed. After the gods/godesses were out of cronus they all fought him. The titans helped cronus. The ttans were sent to tartarus where they would be punished forever and Cronus was killed.
I'm not sure whether by 'early' you mean it originated in ancient Greece, or you mean it happened early in the timeline of Greek mythology, so here's one that fits both: Long ago, when the Titans ruled the Earth, the king of the Titans, Cronus (name meaning 'time'), heard of a prophecy that one of his children would overthrow him. In order to prevent this, he swallowed the five children that his wife eventually bore. His wife, Rhea, did not like her children being eaten. So when the sixth child, Zeus, was born, she swaddled a rock in cloth and gave it to Cronus to swallow -- which he did, thinking that it was his child. Rhea gave the child away to be raised, and when grown, Zeus returned to his father and tricked him into drinking a mixture of mustard and wine to make him throw up. When he did, the five children (Hera, Demeter, Poseidon, Hades, and Hestia), who had grown inside his stomach, leapt out. There was a great battle between the Titans and the Gods, ending with (spoiler) the gods winning. Zeus banished the Titans to Tartar, but not before cutting his father, Cronus, with Cronus' own scythe, the same way Cronus did to his father, Ouranus (the sky).
zues is the son of cronus who is the son of uranus. Everytime cronus had a child he would eat them to keep them from defeating him and taking over the throne. Cronus ate all of zues's brothers and sisters as infants but Zues's mom did not like him doing this and so after Zues was born his mother gave Cronus a rock wrapped in a blanket that looked like an infant. Cronus downs the rock and thinks he ate baby zues. Zues's mom then takes zues and give him to the nymphs Ida and Adestia. He is wet-nursed by a goat and grows to manhood. Zues then gets kings minos's daughter to make a draught that will make cronus puke. Zues gives the drink to cronus and Cronus spits up all Zues's brothers and sisters who are fully grown. Cronus is thrown in a hole where he cant get out. Zues takes power and rules mt. olympus
All of the Titans, except for Metis, Rhea, and Gaia fought against Zeus in the clash against Cronus. The Titaness Metis gave Zeus the drink to make Cronus vomit up his swallowed children and later was wedded to Zeus. Rhea told Zeus how to kill/weaken Cronus because she couldn't bear his cruelty to her children anymore. Gaia actually cared for the young Zeus while her daughter Rhea tricked Cronus into swallowing a rock rather than the baby. These women stayed loyal to Zeus until the end of battle.
In Greek mythology, Zeus put a mixture of mustard and wine into Cronus' drink to make him vomit up his siblings, whom Cronus had previously swallowed. This act was part of Zeus' plan to overthrow his father Cronus and become the ruler of the gods. The mustard likely acted as an irritant to Cronus' stomach lining, causing him to regurgitate his siblings and ultimately leading to Zeus' victory in the Titanomachy.

Rhea bore Cronus six children, of which he ate the first five right after birth, because he had been told that one of his offspring would dethrone him. When Rhea's sixth child, Zeus, was born, she gave Cronus a stone wrapped in cloth and hid the baby in a cave in Crete, where others raised him.

Zeus was the Ruler or King of the gods, an Olympian god and son of Cronus and Rhea.
Cronus, was the first God of the Universe and was the only Titan brave and willing enough to follow Gaia(the Earth)'s wishes and kill the evil Uranus (the Sky) who imprisoned the Hecatonchires and the Cyclopes in Tartarus. Cronus married his sister, Rhea and had six children. Because Cronus knew that one of his sons would overthrow him as he overthrew his father, he decided to stop the next generation and eat (swallow) five of his six children (Demeter, Hera, Hades, Hestia, and Poseidon). But Gaia gave Rhea advice on how to keep her sixth son (Zeus). Rhea and gave Cronus a stone (known as the Omphalos Stone) wrapped in swaddling clothes (robes) and tricked him into believing that the stone was his sixth son. Cronus promptly ate the stone. Rhea hid baby Zeus in a cave on Mount Ida, Crete, in secrecy, in fear that Cronus would find out about the trick played on him. [The story on how Zeus thrived is a mystery spread upon different people and stories, see various articles on Zeus and Cronus for details.] As Zeus grew up, he became stronger and gained more friends and allies. When Zeus was fully grown and mighty, Gaia gave him an emetic herb to use on Cronus. Zeus tricked Cronus into thinking that the herb would make him immense and overbearing power, but instead it made Cronus extremely sick. Cronus later threw up the five of his children along with the Omphalos Stone. Zeus had prevailed. Zeus shared land and power among each of his siblings, he made Hades the god of the Underworld, Poseidon the god of the sea, Demeter the god of the harvest, Hestia the goddess of architecture and family, Hera the goddess of marriage and the rights of women. Of course, being Zeus, he kept the best for himself. Zeus chose the right to guard the sky and the heavens, also becoming the second God of the Universe. Zeus also shared power, laws, and rights to those who lived in his land.
Of coarse it is!! In fact that's where everyone's suppose to vomit. Just make sure all the feces in the toilet is flushed down before the children vomit in them.

You can't force people to like things. Cronus was not the one who created people. It was Prometheus who created life-forms in the image of Zeus and Hera. He then added a little bit of Chaos to make them come to life and to stay living.
Hestia was one of the six children of Kronos (Cronus) and Rhea. Her siblings included her her brothers Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades and her sisters, Demeter and Hera. These are the six gods we know today that all were eaten by Kronos except for Zeus. He grew up on a distant island where his mother, Rhea (sister of Kronos) hid him from his father. Zeus grew up on that island where he was taught to make a special poison. When he was strong enough he returned to Mount Olmypus and slipped the poison into Krono's wine making him puke up his first 5 children. This started the War of the Titans that was later one by the younger gods when Zeus freed Gaia's (mother earth) first children. The three with fifty faces and one hundred hands and three of the cyclops who could make weapons. They fought on Zeus's side to beat Cronus, slice him into one hundred pieces and cast him into the pits of Tartarus. Hestia's grandparents are Gaia and Uranus (father heaven).
