Crixus, Oeonamaus, Gannicus, and Castus
Crixus, the famous gladiator and one of the leaders of the slave uprising against the Roman Republic during the Third Servile War, was born around 109 BC. His exact birth date is not recorded in historical sources, but he is believed to have been a Gaul who became a prominent figure in the revolt led by Spartacus.
Spartacus defeated Lentulus first, who had attempted to surround the slaves, and then both the praetor Arrius and Gellius, who had recently slain Crixus and his Gauls.
Spartacus was not the sole leader of the slave revolt in 73 BC in Capua. His leadership was shared & helped by two other slaves; Crixus, a Gallic slave and by the German slave, Oenomaus.
Spartacus, Crixus and Oenomaus led fugitive slaves in a rebellion historians call the Third Servile War. The fugitives spent a lot of time pillaging the countryside and, sometimes, towns to feed themselves.

Spartacus was one of the leaders of what historians have called the Third Servile war, which lasted from 73 B.C. to 71 B.C. The other leaders where Crixus and Oenomaus. Spartacus became the sole leader after Oenomaus and Crixus died (in 73 B.C. and 72 B.C. respectively). Some 70 gladiators escaped from Italy's largest gladiatorial school in and Capua, near Naples. They took refuge on Mount Vesuvius and defeated a Roman militia which was sent after them. After this many other slaves joined them. There were more victories against small Roman forces and more slaves joining. Their size reached 120,000. Eventually the rebels were slaughtered by a Roman force of six legions

Three of the most famous gladiators in ancient Rome were Spartacus, who led a major slave revolt; Crixus, known for his strength and as a key figure in the revolt alongside Spartacus; and Flamma, a renowned gladiator who fought in multiple bouts and was awarded the rudis, symbolizing his freedom. Each of these gladiators left a significant mark on history, representing the valor and struggles of those who fought in the arena.
